Dr. James J. Teague III
Dr. Jack Teague is an Asheville native and a 6th generation Western North Carolinian. He is currently in his 28th year of practice. He attended Erwin High School, NC State University, and the University of NC at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. He and his wife Beth, a chemical engineer, have three children, ages 22, 19, and 16.
After serving for many years on the Board of Trustees, Dr. Teague served as President of the North Carolina Dental Society in 2013. Dr. Teague is actively involved at the UNC School of Dentistry and served as the President of the UNC Dental Alumni Association. Dr. Teague has served on many non-profit boards in Asheville since returning in 1991, including the United Way’s Tocqueville Leadership Council, the AB Tech Foundation, the Eblen Foundation, and Child Abuse Prevention Services. Dr. Teague chaired the committee that directed Asheville’s first ever “Mission of Mercy” dental clinic on August 13th and 14th, 2010, that served almost 900 hundred patients in one weekend and provided over $400,000 of dental services free of charge to our areas underserved population. He is a fellow of the International College of Dentists, where fellowship is extended by invitation only in recognition of an individual’s “outstanding professional achievement, meritorious service, and dedication to the continued progress of dentistry for the benefit of humankind.”
Dr. Teague was selceted by his peers in 2018 to represent North Carolina as a Delegate to the American Dental Association's House of Delegates, the governing body of the ADA, a postion that he currently holds. Dr. Teague is also the current Treasurer of the North Carolina Dental Society's Political Action Committee.
Dr. Pamela Van Praag
Dr. Pamela Van Praag attended the University of Florida and is a graduate of Emory University School of Dentistry. She served as the President of the Georgia Board of Dentistry. In additon to being an active memeber of the American Detal Association, Dr. Van Praag is active in state and local dental associations. Dr. Van Praag has been in practice with Dr. Teague since 2009.
Dr. Emmy Murdock
Dr. Emmy J. Murdock is a summa cum laude graduate of Appalachian State University. After college, Emmy continued her education at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill. She graduated dental school with honors. After dental school, Emmy furthered her preparation in dentistry by completing a general practice residency at the Veteran Affairs hospital in San Fransisco. After her residency, she married her husband Stephen in the beautiful mountains of Asheville. They continued to live on the West Coast, moving several times in pursuit of post doctoral training. In that time Emmy worked in dental positions in both private and public sectors. Both have been challenging with their own unique demands in patient care, and both have contributed substantially to the experience and clinical skills she is able to bring to her work as a general dentist. Her clinical interests are wide ranging and include diagnosis and treatment planning in all phases of dentistry, fixed and removable prosthodontics, implant restoration, and oral surgery. She is committed to conservative treatment with an emphasis on prevention of dental disease. Dr. Murdock is a member of the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, and the Buncombe County Dental Society. She loves working at Teague Dentistry because it a family centered practice with a very high standard of care. She has been working with Dr. Teague since 2017. When she is not working, Emmy enjoys being a mother to her daughter and son. Her joy is being with her family and doing family centered activities.
