I have practiced dental hygiene for 40 years. Even though I chose my career because I love dentistry, I have found the true value of my work is in the relationships I have developed with my patients.

I am a native of Asheville, NC. I attended the Asheville City schools, Western Carolina University and Central Piedmont Community College. I graduated from Central Piedmont Community College in 1970 with a degree in dental hygiene. A career in dental hygiene was suggested to me by my dentist when I was in the 9th grade. Having never considered another profession, I have been a registered dental hygienist for 45 years in the same practice. My life’s work has been most rewarding and my professional goal has been to help educate patients about the importance of maintaining optimal dental health. Also gratifying is getting to know the patients over the years and forming lasting ties. The natural beauty of Asheville and the surrounding areas fit my love of the outdoors.

After working in the veterinary field for 10 years, I decided it was time for a change and switched to dentistry! I still have a soft spot for animals, as I have horses and enjoy barrel racing with them in my free time. I also have a dog named, DeSoto, who loves a good game of fetch! I really enjoy the outdoors and spending time on the lake in the summer. This job has been very fulfilling in many areas of my life. I enjoy the work environment and patient care that Dr. Teague and his office provides. I truly am blessed.
